FILM & TELEVISION

Across This Land with Stompin’ Tom Connors

Originally Released: November 1973

Shot at Toronto’s historic Horseshoe Tavern before a seated audience of beer-drinking country music fans and stage decor featuring a prominent wagon wheel, the film kicks things off with a rousing version of “Sudbury Saturday Night” before Tom spends the next 90 minutes telling Newfie jokes and belting out some of his biggest hits, including “Bud the Spud,” “Big Joe Mufferaw” and “Rubberhead,” as well as parodies of Nashville standards “Green Green Grass Of Home” and “Muleskinner Blues” (all later released on the Album “Live at the Horseshoe.”)

Tom’s show is spelled off by performances by guest country musicians Kent Brockwell, Sharon Lowness, Chris Scott, Bobby Lalonde and Joey Tardif, who each do a song while Tom sits in the audience, having a beer or two with those that came to see the show.

Canadian Country Music captured on film at its best!

Stompin’ Tom’s Canada

TV Series (1974-1975)

Stompin’ Tom’s Canada was a Canadian music and documentary television series which originally aired on CBC Television from 1974 to 1975. This series featured Stompin’ Tom Connors on tour throughout Canada with a mix of studio and location scenes. Connors’ performances were combined with location segments featuring the various communities he visited. he visited in Canada to discuss the stories and events that he sang about in his many songs about our Great Country.

The 23 week half-hour series was broadcast on Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. (Eastern) from 26th of September 1974 to 13 March 1975. This series has never been re-aired by CBC or any network so hopefully one day it will get to be seen again either on TV or a DVD series. They were great shows to see.

In LIVE Concert

Originally Released: July 2006

The T.V. special Canada’s own Public Network REFUSED to broadcast!  And what was the real reason? Maybe YOU can discover it?

As it turned out, the Live Concert Special was the 2nd most viewed program in the Country on the night it debuted and it had over 1.3 million viewers combined from the only 2 broadcasts it had on CTV in 2006.

This Concert was filmed at Hamilton Place in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, during Stompin’ Tom’s 2005 Concert Tour. See how the Moment was Magic for Tom’s fans in High Definition quality. And now, at long last, the Stompin’ Tom Concert Experience can be taken home and enjoyed by all. This is Great Stuff!
